Enoshima Island Spa (Enospa) Tickets: ¥3,250 Day Plan, ¥2,250 Sunset Plan, Tattoo and Child Rules, Hours, and the 2027 Closure (2026)
Enoshima Island Spa sells time, not just entry. The same baths and pools cost ¥3,250 if you walk in at 10:00 and ¥2,250 if you come in after 16:00, and the price of the full plan rises to ¥4,250 on four dates this winter. The spa sits on the island itself, a few steps up from the end of the bridge, so it fits the end of an Enoshima day: lighthouse first, bath after. Two rules stop people at the door, and both are strict: no tattoos of any kind, and no children below elementary school age in the baths or pools. The rates below are the operator's October–March table, checked 2026-10-24.
The four plans and what each includes
| Plan | Adult | Child | Hours covered | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Onsen & Pool | ¥3,250 | ¥1,600 | entry to closing | baths, pools (10:00–18:00), towel set and loungewear |
| Sunset Time | ¥2,250 | ¥1,100 | from 16:00 to closing | baths, pools until 18:00, towel set and loungewear |
| 3-Hour Onsen Only | ¥1,950 | ¥950 | 3 hours from entry | baths only; towel set rental ¥550 |
| Morning Bath | ¥1,000 | ¥700 | enter 7:00–10:00, stay 3 hours | baths only; towel set rental ¥550 |
- These are the October to March rates. Adult means junior high school age and up and includes the ¥150 bathing tax; child means elementary school.
- High-season dates this winter are 14 November 2026 (the Fujisawa and Enoshima fireworks) and 1, 2 and 3 January 2027. Onsen & Pool goes to ¥4,250 (child ¥2,100), Sunset Time to ¥3,050 (¥1,500) and the 3-hour plan to ¥2,450 (¥1,200). The Morning Bath stays at ¥1,000. The operator's rate calendar shows ¥3,250 on every other day through January.
- April to September costs more: Onsen & Pool ¥3,750 (child ¥1,850), Sunset Time ¥2,750 (¥1,350) and starting at 17:00 instead of 16:00, 3-Hour Onsen Only ¥2,250 (¥1,100). Golden Week and Obon are high season, at ¥4,750 for the full plan.
- Swimsuit rental starts at ¥770 and is for adults only, so children need their own. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, make-up remover and skin lotion are in the baths.
- Advance e-tickets are sold through Asoview, Jalan and Rakuten Travel. They are not counted towards the parking discount.
Which plan to buy
- An afternoon on the island, then the spa: Sunset Time, ¥2,250. The pools close at 18:00, so you get two hours in the swimsuit areas and then the 3F baths until 21:00. On an Enoshima day trip this is the plan to buy: the Sea Candle's last entry is 19:30 and the escar stops at 19:05, so see the island by daylight, then walk down to the spa at 16:00. The ¥1,000 saved over the full plan pays for the Sea Candle and part of the escar.
- A whole day of pools: Onsen & Pool, ¥3,250. From October to March the 2F outdoor pool is shut, so the swimsuit areas are the indoor pools on 2F and the cave pool on 1F. Note too that on 19 October 2026 the operator posted that the 2F jacuzzi is out of order and the 1F low-temperature sauna is running at about 45–50°C instead of 60°C, with no repair date given.
- A bath, no swimsuit: 3-Hour Onsen Only, ¥1,950, or the Morning Bath, ¥1,000, if you can be at the door before 10:00. The baths open at 7:00. Both plans add ¥550 for a towel set unless you carry your own.
- With school-age children: each child needs a parent or guardian of the same gender in the changing room and the single-sex baths. A father alone with a daughter, or a mother alone with a son, cannot take the child into the baths. The pools are mixed and in swimsuits, so the family is together there. Children of preschool age are not admitted to the baths or pools at all; the restaurants are open to them.
| Example, October to March regular day | Who | Spa cost |
|---|---|---|
| Sunset Time | 1 adult | ¥2,250 |
| Onsen & Pool | 1 adult | ¥3,250 |
| Onsen & Pool | 2 adults + 1 elementary school child | ¥8,100 |
| Sunset Time | 2 adults + 1 elementary school child | ¥5,600 |
| Onsen & Pool on 14 November 2026 | 2 adults | ¥8,500 |
Hours, floor by floor
- Last entry for any plan is 20:00, and the building closes at 21:00.
- The 3F baths, Fujimiyu, are the classic kind: men's and women's sides, no swimsuit, with the hot water drawn from 1,500 m down, a carbonated bath and a dry sauna.
- The 2F outdoor pool reopens on 1 April 2027. It was opened as an exception on 17 October 2026 until 20:00 and will open on the high-season dates above until 18:00.
- Benten Spa (oil treatments, 4F) takes reservations and is closed on Mondays and Thursdays. Natura (foot and body care, 2F) is closed Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and does not need a spa ticket.
Closed for repairs: 12 January to 25 March 2027
The spa opened in December 2004, and the operator is repairing the main building, the 3F bath area above all, over the winter. The baths, both pool floors, Island Grill, Benten Spa and Natura are closed from 12 January to 25 March 2027, 73 days, with reopening planned for 26 March. The Enoshima Cafe on 1F, the Chinese restaurant Kisshoro in the annex and the coin lockers stay open, and Enoshima Hotel keeps taking guests, without its usual free spa access. The English rate page gives the closing dates as "January 12 – March 24, 2027 (tentative)", so expect the exact end to move by a day. Outside this period the spa normally closes for four days of maintenance in May and again in December; the December 2026 closure has been dropped because of the long one in January.
Tattoos, swimwear and what you can bring
- Tattoos: anyone with a tattoo, including stickers, one-point designs and henna, is refused at the entrance. A rash guard may not be worn to hide one. The operator's FAQ says a person found inside with a tattoo must leave and still pays. If this rule shuts you out, the swimsuit onsen park in Hakone takes a different approach: see Hakone day-use onsen.
- Allowed in the pool areas: goggles, a swim cap (optional), sunglasses, beach sandals (pool areas only), your own towels, and phones and smartwatches, as long as you take no photos in the no-photo zones. Rash guards made of swimsuit material are fine, top and bottom.
- Not allowed: inflatable rings, beach balls, floats and parasols (the spa lends rings, some free, some paid), sun oil, your own food and drink, cotton T-shirts, wetsuits, and swimwear the staff judge too revealing (micro bikinis and thongs are named).
- Smoking is banned everywhere on the premises, including the rooftop, since 19 July 2025.
Getting there and what the trip costs
The spa's address is 2-1-6 Enoshima, on the island. Cross Enoshima Benten Bridge, and the main building is on the left before the shopping street climbs. The operator gives these walking times:
| From | Walk | Train to that station |
|---|---|---|
| Katase-Enoshima (Odakyu) | about 10 min | from Shinjuku, Odakyu Rapid Express to Fujisawa about 53 min + 7 min, or the Romancecar about 63 min direct |
| Enoshima (Enoden) | about 14 min | from Shinjuku, JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line to Fujisawa about 52 min + Enoden about 10 min |
| Shonan-Enoshima (Shonan Monorail) | about 14 min | from Tokyo Station, JR Tokaido Line to Ofuna about 40 min + monorail about 13 min |
- From Shinjuku by Odakyu: ¥650 each way (child ¥330), ¥1,300 for the round trip. Sunset Time plus the trains is ¥3,550 per adult; Onsen & Pool plus the trains is ¥4,550. The Romancecar adds a ¥750 seat fee each way. The Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass (¥1,640 from Shinjuku) covers the Odakyu round trip and the Enoden, so it only pays if Kamakura is on the same day: the comparison is in Enoshima day trip from Tokyo.
- Via Ofuna and the monorail: the monorail is ¥340 each way, ¥680 return, from Ofuna. Its 1-day ticket is ¥750, and the monorail operator lists 10% off Enoshima Island Spa admission among the 1-day ticket's partner offers. On a ¥3,250 plan that is ¥325 off for a ticket that costs ¥70 more than two singles, so the 1-day ticket comes out ahead even if you never ride a third time. Show the ticket at the spa's front desk. The line and its fares are in Shonan Monorail.
- Free shuttle: the spa runs a free shuttle to and from all three stations. It does not run on Mondays or Thursdays, and on weekends and holidays it runs in the evening only. The timetable is a PDF on the operator's access page. There are no child seats, so children under 6 cannot ride.
- By car: three public car parks on the island. Spend ¥12,000 or more on one receipt at the main building and parking is free for up to four hours by length of stay. The bridge is closed to vehicles from 22:00 to 5:00; on foot it stays open.
- Luggage: coin lockers in the annex, 1F, 11:00–19:00: small ¥300 (42 × 40 × 42 cm), large ¥500 (42 × 80 × 48 cm). Anything bigger than a day bag is better left in a locker at Katase-Enoshima Station.
The spa is one of the lit sites of the winter illumination, so a Sunset Time ticket on an evening between 1 December and 28 February lands you on the island as the lights come on: see Enoshima illumination 2026–27. For the Sea Candle, the escar and the caves earlier in the day, use the Enoshima island tickets calculator. Coming from Kamakura, the Enoden is one train for ¥260: Kamakura to Enoshima.

No. Tattoos of every kind, including stickers and henna, are refused at the entrance, and covering one with a rash guard is also against the rules. A tattooed guest found inside is asked to leave without a refund.
Can children use Enoshima Island Spa?
Elementary school children can, every day of the week since April 2025, with a parent or guardian of the same gender; the day-of-the-week ban that used to apply is gone. Under Fujisawa city's bathhouse ordinance only a six-year-old first-grader may use the opposite sex's changing room. Preschool children may not use the baths or pools, only the restaurants.
