From our own visit

What we remember most from walking between the temples is not the temples themselves but the streets around them: stylish new shops next to old, long-established ones. Leave time to walk between the temples instead of only riding from gate to gate.

One stop we liked: Namimachi Bagel in Sakanoshita, about 5 minutes on foot from Enoden Hase Station, so it fits well with the Great Buddha and Hasedera. The bagel with shirasu (tiny boiled whitebait) was delicious. Check the shop's opening days before you go.

Do I need the Enoden 1-day pass for the temples?

Usually not. Kamakura ⇄ Hase is ¥200 per ride, so a round trip is ¥400 against ¥800 for the Noriorikun pass. The pass pays off when you also go to Enoshima: use the Enoshima-Kamakura calculator.
