Yokohama Christmas Market 2026 at Red Brick Warehouse: Dates, Hours, Tickets and Free Days
Five weeks, one gate fee, and a tree about 11 m tall. The Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse (クリスマスマーケット in 横浜赤レンガ倉庫) runs 20 November to 25 December 2026, in front of the two old brick warehouses on Yokohama's waterfront. It's a German-style market: wooden huts brought from Germany, sausages, mulled wine and a mug you can take home.
It isn't free to get in. A regular ticket costs ¥500 to ¥1,000 depending on the date. Children of elementary school age and younger never pay. One rule changes the cost for families: until 4 December, junior high students (up to about 15) get in free too.
Dates and opening hours
| Days | Open | Last orders |
|---|---|---|
| Fri 20 November (opening day) | 17:00–21:00 | 20:30 |
| Sat 21 November to Fri 4 December | 11:00–21:00 | 20:30 |
| Sat 5 December to Fri 25 December | 11:00–22:00 | 21:30 |
- It goes ahead in the rain. In a storm it may close; the organiser posts that on the Red Brick Warehouse website and its X account.
- Some areas and stalls keep different hours, and the gate can be held when it gets crowded.
- Wednesday 25 November is "Yokohama Citizens' Thanks Day": free entry for people who live in Yokohama City, with ID showing a current Yokohama address. For visitors from abroad it's a normal ticketed day.
Ticket prices
| Ticket | Price (tax included) | How you buy it |
|---|---|---|
| Regular entry | ¥500–¥1,000 | At the gate on the day: cash only |
| Priority entry (shorter wait) | ¥2,000–¥2,500 | Online only, for a set date, limited number |
| Priority entry with premium mug | ¥4,500–¥5,000 | Online only, for a set date, limited number |
The price inside each range depends on the date and the ticket type. The organiser hasn't yet said which dates cost what: it plans to publish the ticket details around late October 2026. Our guess, and only a guess, is that weekends and the days just before Christmas land at the top of each range. We'll update this page when the calendar comes out.
Who gets in free
- Elementary school age and younger: free on every day, with a parent or guardian.
- Junior high school age and younger: free until Friday 4 December. From 5 December, junior high students need a ticket.
- If an adult in your group has a priority ticket, the free children can go through the priority gate with them.
- Part of the site is a free area, so you can see some of the lights without a ticket.
Food, drinks and the souvenir mug are paid on top of the entry ticket.
What it costs to get in for two adults with children aged 13 and 9, on our reading of the rules above:
| Visit | Who pays | Entry for the family |
|---|---|---|
| Any day up to 4 December | 2 adults | ¥1,000–¥2,000 |
| From 5 December | 2 adults + the 13-year-old | ¥1,500–¥3,000 |
Our advice: with teenagers, go before 4 December. With younger children only, the date doesn't change the entry cost for them, so pick a weekday afternoon. You avoid the evening queue and still see the tree lit up if you stay past dark.
Is the priority ticket worth it?
Only if you're going on a weekend evening in December, and only if you'd buy the special mug anyway. The organiser sells it as a way to cut the wait at the gate. The premium mug, made by Noritake, isn't sold to the general public: you get it only with the ¥4,500–¥5,000 priority ticket, the premium lounge or a partner hotel plan. On a weekday afternoon in late November, a ¥500–¥1,000 regular ticket at the gate is the sensible buy.
Cash, food and other rules
- Bring cash for the gate. A regular ticket bought on the day is cash only. Inside, the stalls take cash and cashless payments (which brands varies by stall). You can't top up an IC card at the market.
- The nearest ATM is on the 1st floor of Red Brick Warehouse building 2, which opens at 11:00.
- No outside food or drink. There are outdoor tables and chairs for what you buy inside.
- Pets are allowed if they stay completely inside a carrier or pet cart, except in the app-members' area and the premium lounge.
- Filming is fine for personal use.
Getting there from Tokyo
The nearest stations are Bashamichi and Nihon-odori on the Minatomirai Line, about 6 minutes on foot. Minatomirai Station is about 12 minutes; JR Sakuragicho and Kannai about 15.
From Shibuya, take the Tokyu Toyoko Line towards Yokohama. Many trains continue onto the Minatomirai Line, so you can often stay on to Bashamichi. A paper ticket costs ¥490 for an adult: ¥310 to Yokohama plus ¥200 on the Minatomirai Line, minus the ¥20 discount for a through ticket from a Tokyu station. From Shinagawa, JR to Yokohama (¥350) and then the Minatomirai Line (¥200) is ¥550.

By boat: the Sea Bass water bus stops at Pier Red Brick, right beside building 1, and a set ticket (regular entry + a one-way Sea Bass ride) is new this year, with details due around late October. The last boats leave around 18:00, so for an evening visit the boat only works one way. Our Sea Bass guide lists which boats stop at Red Brick. The Yokohama Air Cabin ropeway from Sakuragicho is another way in, landing near the Cosmo World Ferris wheel.
Driving: the Red Brick Warehouse car parks charge ¥500 for the first hour and ¥250 per 30 minutes after that. Shopping at the market doesn't get you a parking discount.
