Hakone museums tickets: prices, Freepass discounts and the cheapest way (calculator)

Short answer: one adult pays ¥2,800 at the Okada Museum, ¥2,200 at the Pola Museum of Art, ¥2,000 at the Hakone Open-Air Museum, ¥1,800 at the Hakone Glass Forest and ¥1,500 at the Lalique Museum, the Hakone Museum of Art and the Narukawa Art Museum. All seven give ¥100–¥200 off with the Hakone Freepass, and Open-Air and Pola are cheaper still online (¥1,800 and ¥2,000). Junior high school students and younger are free at Pola and the Hakone Museum of Art. The Hako Ticket (¥5,500) covers only Glass Forest, Lalique, the Hakone Museum of Art and Narukawa. Tick your museums below for your group's total. Prices from each museum's official page and Hakone Navi, checked 2026-10-12.

Adult price per museum, door price then the cheapest way: Okada Museum of Art ¥2,800, ¥2,600 with the Freepass; Pola Museum of Art ¥2,200, ¥2,000 with the Freepass or an advance ticket; Hakone Open-Air Museum ¥2,000, ¥1,800 online; Hakone Glass Forest ¥1,800, ¥1,700 with the Freepass; Lalique Museum ¥1,500, ¥1,300; Hakone Museum of Art ¥1,500, ¥1,300; Narukawa Art Museum ¥1,500, ¥1,300. Hakone Museum of Art: closed until 29 October 2026

The Hakone Museum of Art (moss garden, Gora) is closed for renovation from 7 May to 29 October 2026. From 30 October the annex gallery and a new café open as a pre-opening, for ¥1,000 (high school and university ¥500). The main building galleries reopen on 23 December 2026; the regular price is ¥1,500 (¥700). Junior high and younger are always free. The museum is closed on Thursdays.

Is the Hako Ticket worth it for museums?

The Hako Ticket (¥5,500 per adult for 1 day) gives free entry to 4 of these museums: Glass Forest, Lalique, the Hakone Museum of Art and Narukawa. Their four door prices add up to ¥6,300, so an adult who visits all four in one day saves ¥800, before Freepass discounts. With the Freepass, the four cost ¥5,600. Three museums are not enough on their own. Glass Forest and Lalique are both in Sengokuhara, but Narukawa is at Lake Ashi and the Museum of Art in Gora, so four in one day means a lot of bus time. The Hako Ticket also covers 16 hot springs and sights: see the Hako Ticket calculator.
