Hako Ticket Hakone: is it worth it? (2026 calculator for all 20 places)

Short answer: the Hako Ticket costs ¥5,500 per adult for 1 day (¥2,000 per child), ¥7,300 for 2 days and ¥9,800 for 3 days, and lets you enter 20 hot springs, museums and sights in Hakone as often as you like. Most single entries cost ¥500–¥2,800, so an adult needs about 3 or 4 places in one day, including a pricey one like Yunessun or Ryuguden, before the 1-day ticket pays off. The big three museums (Open-Air, Pola and Okada) are not included. Tick your plan below to compare. Prices from Hakone Navi (Odakyu Hakone) and each place's official page, checked 2026-10-11.

Four example days against the 1-day Hako Ticket at ¥5,500 per adult. Lake Ashi weekday: Ryuguden ¥2,300 + Hakone-en Aquarium ¥1,600 + Narukawa Art Museum ¥1,500 + Hakone Checkpoint ¥500 = ¥5,900, the ticket saves ¥400. Weekend: Yunessun ¥2,800 + Glass Forest ¥1,800 + Lalique ¥1,500 = ¥6,100, saves ¥600. Sengokuhara weekday: Glass Forest ¥1,800 + Lalique ¥1,500 + Ichinoyu ¥1,400 = ¥4,700, the ticket costs ¥800 more. Gora weekday: Gora Park ¥650 + Hakone Museum of Art ¥1,000 + Hakone Yutowa ¥1,500 = ¥3,150, the ticket costs ¥2,350 more.
Three ordinary places a day is usually not enough. Four, or one expensive hot spring plus two museums, is.

Tick every place you will enter during the whole ticket (for a 2-day ticket, both days). Each place counts once: the ticket allows repeat visits, but most people go once.

Ichinoyu has two inns on the list (Shinanoki and Susukinohara); they share one price, and one receipt gets you into the other Ichinoyu inns the same day, so they are one line here. Yunessun and Mori no Yu sell a combined "Passport" at the door (adult ¥3,500 on A days, ¥3,700 on B days); the calculator uses it when you tick both.

Not included: the big three museums

If your day is built around these three, the Hako Ticket will not help. A Hakone Freepass still covers the trains, cable car, ropeway, boat and buses between them: Hakone Freepass calculator.

Hakone Freepass "Hako Ticket" Plus

Odakyu also sells the Hako Ticket together with the digital Hakone Freepass as one set, for 2 or 3 days. It is cheaper than buying both separately.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Hako Ticket?

¥5,500 per adult and ¥2,000 per child for 1 day, ¥7,300 / ¥3,000 for 2 days and ¥9,800 / ¥4,000 for 3 days. It is a digital ticket sold only in Odakyu's EMot app and website.

Is the Hakone Open-Air Museum included in the Hako Ticket?

No. The Open-Air Museum, the Pola Museum of Art and the Okada Museum of Art are not on the list of 20 places.

Is Yunessun included in the Hako Ticket?

Yes. Both Yunessun (the swimsuit area) and Mori no Yu (the hot spring) at Hakone Kowakien are included. Yunessun alone costs ¥2,500–¥3,000 for an adult at the door.

Is the Hako Ticket worth it for one day?

Only if your entries add up to more than ¥5,500 per adult. That usually means four places, or Yunessun or another expensive hot spring plus two museums.

Does the Hako Ticket include trains or buses?

No. For transport you need a Hakone Freepass or single tickets. The Hakone Freepass "Hako Ticket" Plus set combines both for 2 or 3 days.

What is the difference between the Hakone Freepass and the Hako Ticket?

The Hakone Freepass covers transport (trains, cable car, ropeway, boat and buses) and gives small discounts at about 70 places. The Hako Ticket covers entry to 20 places and no transport.
