Hakone Yunessun tickets: price by date, Passport vs Mori no Yu, tattoo rules (calculator)
Short answer: Hakone Kowakien Yunessun is a hot spring park where you wear a swimsuit (wine bath, coffee bath, slides), and Mori no Yu next door is a regular naked hot spring. The door price depends on the day. On an A day (most weekdays) an adult pays ¥2,500 for Yunessun, ¥1,500 for Mori no Yu, or ¥3,500 for the Passport to both. On a B day (weekends, holidays, New Year and late March) it is ¥2,800 / ¥1,700 / ¥3,700, and on a C day ¥3,000 / ¥1,800 / ¥4,000. Children aged 3 to elementary school pay from ¥1,000; under 3 free. Towels and swimsuits cost extra. Tattoos must be covered. From Shinjuku: Romancecar to Hakone-Yumoto, then about 20 minutes by bus to the Kowakien stop. Prices and calendar from Yunessun's official pages, checked 2026-10-12.

Getting there from Tokyo
- Shinjuku → Hakone-Yumoto: Odakyu Romancecar, about 90 minutes. Fares and seats: Romancecar tickets guide.
- Hakone-Yumoto → Kowakien (小涌園) stop: Hakone Tozan Bus or Izuhakone Bus, about 20 minutes. Yunessun is across the road from the stop.

The Hakone Freepass covers Hakone Tozan Bus rides, including the bus to Kowakien, but not the entry ticket. Check whether the pass pays off with the Hakone Freepass calculator. We could not read the single bus fare from the official route search when we checked, so it is not in the calculator.
Hako Ticket or the door price?
The Hako Ticket (¥5,500 per adult for 1 day, ¥2,000 per child) includes both Yunessun and Mori no Yu and 18 other Hakone places. For Yunessun alone it costs more than the Passport (¥3,500–¥4,000). It pays off if you add museums or another hot spring the same day: try the Hako Ticket calculator.
